The creative juices are flowing in cold and wintery Melbourne and I am working on my newest creative project, a stage show. Lumiere Acrobatics is known for delivering innovative and beautiful aerial performance in Melbourne and throughout Australia, so yes the stage show will have dazzling aerial duo performance, but also solo aerial acts, acrobatics and jazz dance. My new show is called THE LOUNGE – A Circus Cabaret and will be performed at Gas Works Theatre. THE LOUNGE is an unforgettable fusion of circus, dance and jazz.
The show is set in a chic Jazz Cabaret venue where two club hosts strut their amazing acts vying for top dog status, until the ultimate act appears. Think of an act inside a huge hand crafted aerial apparatus with 8000 mirrors! Yes you guessed it – the AeroSphere makes its theatre debut.
So what do you need to make a great show and how do you get the most out of your show. Firstly it is all about getting a great team of people together. Not just the performers but also the designers, the publicity people and the tech crew. Yes they all need to be talented, and yes the performers need to be great, but most of all they need to be right behind the show 100% and excited to be part of it.
I am lucky to have some of the best aerial and acrobatic performers not just in Melbourne, but in Australia. With two ex Cirque Du Soleil performers and one ex Dragone performer there is international talent galore. I am taking time out from creating shows for car companies like Hyundai and Mazda to jump back into the theatre scene and I am ready to set the stage alight with my talented troupe.
