Right here in Melbourne as part of the 2014 Fringe Festival Lumiere Acrobatics present THE LOUNGE – A Circus Cabaret, at Gas Works Theatre. Featuring jaw dropping acrobatics, THE LOUNGE is an unforgettable fusion of circus, dance and jazz. Set in a chic Cabaret venue, 2 club hosts strut their exceptional acts vying for top dog status, until the ultimate performance appears in a huge hand crafted aerial apparatus with 8000 mirrors! With world class aerial and acrobatics performers Leilisha Marning (cirque du soleil) & Sharon Gruenert (cirque du soleil), a swinging jazz beat and unforgettable circus you are in for a treat. This show is bound to get under your skin with ballads by Sinatra, South American and French Jazz, incredible cabaret acts and spectacular circus.
Show creator, creative director and performer Glenn Birchall has a knack for entertainment with his high energy choreography, beautiful costumes and unique style. Glenn teams up with performance powerhouse Luke Ha, who has recently returned from Macau and thrills with dynamic sky high acrobatics. Shannon Mc Gurgan (Circus Trick Tease) is an all round entertainer boasting skills as a singer, musician and acrobat and will leave you Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered.
But the real star of the show is the debut of a huge orb that opens in 4 petals like a flower. Nothing like this has ever been seen before; the technology behind this wonder is a world first with over 40 000 hours of labour from engineers, electronics experts and fabricators. Glenn spent 70 hours painstakingly gluing each mirror perfectly in place in his lounge while of course listening to Jazz music.
Glenn takes time out from creating shows for car companies like Hyundai and Mazda to jump back into the theatre scene and is ready to set the stage alight with his talented troupe. One surprise we will give away now is the one night only time warp laser show. Full colour lasers sizzling off 8000 mirrors.
The Lounge will keep you on the edge of your seat and the finale act will indeed dazzle you. Show starts at 6.30 pm 30th September – 4th October. 4th October also an extra show at 12.30.This show will sell out so book your tickets early!!
