There is nothing better than the feeling of being on stage and nailing some challenging aerial acrobatics moves! You put the hard work into training day after day and then that performance opportunity comes along. You get out there on the stage and it is such a buzz to feel that strength and control.
Lumiere acrobatics recently performed in Sydney for an awards night for the Truck Company Hino. Five of us performed a dance acrobatic act with full colour lasers provided by Genius Laser technology and it went flawlessly. Arthur Ipsaros from GLT produced the laser show. We spent many hours working out how we could combine lasers, dance and acrobatics in exciting new ways to deliver a visually spectacular show.
Arthur and I have created several laser shows utilising Lumiere Acrobatics aerial acts in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, and have put together several dance acrobatics shows in a similar vein, so we were in familiar territory. What was great about this particular show was that we were able to build on our experience refine new innovative laser manipulation choreography with the dancers and the acrobats.
The performance was a huge success and the client was very happy, especially with the way Arthur integrated the Hino logo into the choreography. The next aerial and acrobatics performances will be here in Melbourne. Doing gigs in Sydney is always fun, but travelling there doesn’t always work out as planned, which is why I recommend flying interstate for gigs the day or night before. Three cancelled flights in a row are ridiculous!!
